Say Hello to our New NSSTA Committee Members!

Say Hello to our New NSSTA Committee Members!

Since 1985, the National Structured Settlements Trade Association has been the leading voice of the structured settlement industry. Independent Life recognizes the impact NSSTA has on our industry and as new members, we are excited to contribute to and help further the NSSTA mission “to promote the establishment and preservation of structured settlements in order to provide long-term financial security to personal injury claimants and their families through periodic payment of compensation.” One way we plan to achieve this goal is to volunteer our talented team members to serve on important NSSTA committees. It is our pleasure to announce the following Independent Life volunteers to the committees below:

Patrick Hindert, VP of New Business Development is the most tenured NSSTA member of the Independent Life team. Pat will continue to serve as a member of the Legal Committee and the CSSC/MSSC Committee, for which he was a 2019 featured speaker at the University of Notre Dame for NSSTA’s Certified Structured Settlement Consultant (CSSC) Program on the topic “The Structured Settlement Market: its Evolution and Future.” Pat’s co-authored book, Structured Settlements and Periodic Payment Judgments is utilized as the primary course textbook for both the NSSTA CSSC and Masters Certificate in Structured Settlement Consulting (MSSC) Programs.

Historically, Pat previously served as NSSTA President (1991-92), also as a NSSTA Board member (1990-93), the inaugural Chairman of NSSTA’s Legislation and Regulation Committee (1989-90) and as Chairman of NSSTAPAC (1990-91). Until this year, he also served on NSSTA’s Education Committee and Innovation Committee and served as Chairman of NSSTA’s Special Needs Attorney Task Force from 2015-2018.
