Todd Hagely

Todd Hagely is Chief Financial Officer, Chief Administrative Officer, and Treasurer of Independent Life. He has more than 30 years of experience in the life and property and casualty insurance industries and leads the company’s finance and human resources functions.

Prior to joining Independent Life, Todd served as Chief Financial Officer of the Direct Auto and Life Insurance Group, where he oversaw all financial aspects of the organization, including strategic planning, financial reporting and compliance, treasury, tax, audit, and risk management. During his tenure, Todd led Direct through multiple major financial transactions, including an initial public offering and the acquisition and subsequent sale of the company by private equity investors. He also played a key role in scaling the business, helping drive revenue growth from $100 million to $600 million.

Throughout his career, Todd has been involved in numerous mergers and acquisitions and has provided consulting services to private equity firms with investments in insurance entities. Earlier in his career, he spent nine years at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he specialized in auditing life and property and casualty insurance companies.

Todd earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting from Miami University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He has held leadership roles with local organizations, including the American Heart Association and United Way. Todd enjoys golfing, hiking, kayaking, and traveling with his family.
